Former West Virginia point guard Jevon Carter has been traded from the Memphis Grizzlies to the Phoenix Suns, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Wednesday afternoon.
Carter was traded to Phoenix along with veteran sharp shooter Kyle Korver in exchange for former Kansas Jayhawk and 2014 No. 4 overall pick Josh Jackson, guard DeAnthony Melton and two future second round picks.
Carter spent his rookie season playing for both the Grizzlies and their G League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle. In his 39 games with the Grizzlies, he averaged 4.4 points and 1.8 assists, including a career-high 32 points in the final game of the season against the Warriors.
Former WVU guard Daxter Miles spent his rookie season with the Suns' G League affiliate, the Northern Arizona Suns, so it is possible the two former teammates will be together on the court this season in Phoenix.
