West Virginia Beats Pitt in PNC Park edition of Backyard Brawl

In the 197th edition of the backyard brawl, and the first at PNC Park, No. 17 West Virginia topped Pittsburgh, 9-4, in front of a mixed crowd of Mountaineer and Panther fans in the Pittsburgh Pirates home ballpark.

West Virginia now holds a 109-88 series record over Pitt, and improved to 3-0 at PNC Park.

Nick Snyder was solid on the mound for the Mountaineers, going 7 innings allowing one run on 3 hits with 11 strike outs and 2 walks.

Tyler Doanes had the hot bat for WVU, going 3-for-5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs.
