West Virginia Picked to Finish 8th in Big 12 Preseason Poll

The Neal Brown era will begin with humble outside expectations in Morgantown. West Virginia football was picked to finish eighth in the Big 12 preseason media poll. Only Kansas State and Kansas are expected to finish behind the Mountaineers.

The eighth place nod ties the lowest preseason ranking for the Mountaineers in the Big 12, as they were picked to finish eighth in 2013 and 2014 as well. Last season, WVU finished fourth in the conference after being tabbed to finish second in the preseason poll.

Oklahoma was selected to win the Big 12 in the preseason poll for the fourth consecutive season.

The Mountaineers kickoff the season on August 31 against James Madison.
