Theresa Marie Palmer Paugh
Theresa Marie Palmer Paugh, 74, of the Kincheloe Community in Jane Lew, passed on to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, under the compassionate care of Crestview Manor Healthcare Center and WVU Medicine Hospice.
Born in Clarksburg on February 23, 1951, Theresa was a daughter of the late William Theodore Palmer and Elinor Francis Martin Palmer Schetzel. In addition to her parents, Theresa was greeted at Heaven’s Gate by her step-father, Donald Schetzel; step-mother, Alta Palmer; one aunt, Virginia Martin; a cousin who was more of a sister, Terry Martin Root; and her feline friend, Patches.
On March 25, 1972, all Theresa’s dreams came true when she married her one true love, Edward Ray Paugh. Together they shared the joys of marriage and raising their two sons. He will miss her dearly.
Forever cherishing their memories of Theresa are her husband, Ed Paugh of the Kincheloe Community; two sons: Jason Edward Paugh and wife, Ronda, of Fairmont, and John Robert Paugh and wife, Jennifer, of Jane Lew; four grandchildren: Jacob Edward Camden Paugh, Emma Hope Paugh, Maggie Elizabeth Paugh, and Truman Wallace Paugh; one brother, Shane Palmer and wife, Cindy, of Greenbrier, AR; several nieces and nephews; two beloved K-9 companions: Gus and Gunner; and cat, Susie.
Theresa graduated from Washington Irving High School, Class of 1969. Her career began with Hope Gas Inc. and continued with McNeer, Highland, McMunn Law Firm in Clarksburg. After the birth of her first son, Theresa dedicated her life to her home and family. This enabled her to volunteer for many programs including the PTA of West Milford Elementary School where she remained active in her son’s lives, and the Rebekah Lodge of Lightburn where she committed her time to community service and charity. Theresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and her devotion to her family and her home was unparalleled. She was a faithful member of the Pleasant Hill Church Kincheloe, where she embodied the spirit of the scripture, “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13). Theresa had a knack for making the everyday special, whether it was through her cooking, canning, feeding birds, watching movies, or spending precious time with her grandchildren.
