7-year-old girl dies after being injured in altercation at trailer park, police say

ADDIS, La. (WAFB/Gray News) - Louisiana authorities say a child has died after being injured during a domestic situation.

According to Addis Police Chief Jason Langlois, officers were called to the MyHand Trailer Park Wednesday night after receiving a report about a young girl being unresponsive.

Langlois said that when officers arrived, CPR was already in progress.

The 7-year-old was taken to Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, but she did not survive her injuries and was pronounced dead.

Officers noted that the girl was injured during a physical altercation that had occurred between two adults inside the mobile home.

An autopsy is being conducted to determine the girl’s cause of death.

Langlois said he expects criminal charges to be filed in the case but did not immediately identify those involved.
