Kitten rescued from inside wall becomes Valley VFD’s newest firehouse cat

FAIRMONT, W.Va (WDTV) - The Valley Volunteer Fire Department posted on Facebook after they rescued a kitten from inside a wall in the Kingmont area of Pleasant Valley.

The Valley Volunteer Fire Department responded to a home in the Kingmont area of Pleasant Valley after a small kitten climbed onto an exterior block wall on a back porch and fell down between the exterior and interior walls.

Firefighters used several specialized tools to carefully cut a hole in the wall near the kitten’s location. Within 20 minutes, crews used a towel to grab the kitten safely.

Following a clean bill of health from a veterinarian, the department announced it has officially adopted the black-and-white kitten.

“Valley VFD now has a black-and-white (Dalmatian Colored) firehouse cat that is safe and healthy after a veterinarian checkup,” the department shared on Facebook, adding that the kitten has been named “Little Debbie.”
