Former Mountaineer Martin to Play Professionally in Ukraine

34th overall pick in 2020 WNBA Draft signs with Kyiv-Basket

MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) - Former WVU guard Tynice Martin has signed to play professional basketball for Kyiv-Basket in Ukraine.

Martin was the 34th overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft to the Los Angeles Sparks. However, she was waived in May before training camp.

Martin ranks fourth on WVU’s all-time scoring list with 1,980 career points and averaged 15 points per game. In 2019, she earned All-Big 12 First Team honors averaging 18 points and six rebounds per contest.

Kyiv-Basket plays in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague. The team is based out of Kiev, the country’s capital.
