Couple arrested for allegedly smoking meth, fentanyl in front of 3-year-old child in Marion County
WHITE HALL, W.Va (WDTV) - A Morgantown couple is facing child neglect charges after police said they found drug paraphernalia in a hotel room within reach of a 3-year-old child.
The White Hall Police Department said officers responded July 1 to the Red Roof Inn on Spencer Drive in Marion County for a suspicious person complaint and encountered Crystal Neff, 31, and Joshua Neff, 35, with their child.
Police said a search warrant led to the discovery of paraphernalia consistent with methamphetamine and fentanyl use, including burnt foils on end tables near the bed and additional burnt foil with residue in a trash can, which officials said indicated drugs had been smoked in front of the child.
According to police, both Crystal and Joshua Neff admitted to using fentanyl and meth within the past few days.
Both were charged with child neglect with risk of serious injury and were taken to the North Central Regional Jail. Joshua Neff’s bond was set at $75,000; Crystal Neff’s bond had not been set as of the department’s report.
